What: 2 hour time commitment from Lomond neighbors to clean-up winning homeowner’s front yard garden bed. (Perennials from the May perennial exchange will be donated).

Details: A drawing will be held at the May Lomond Association Meeting. One (1) homeowner’s garden bed will be selected from the drawing. Bring your entry form to either April’s or May’s Lomond Association Meeting.

Note: If your name was chosen at past year’s Spring garden Cleanup, you are not eligible.

Shaker Heights Community Police Officer Corporal Leonard Westfall will be the featured guest at the March 10 meeting of the Lomond Association. He will available to discuss safety concerns for our homes, streets, and community. Bring your questions and spread the word to your Lomond friends and neighbors. All are welcome!

Following the format of the highly successful revitalization project of 2009, the primary purpose of this grant is to award matching grants to homeowners willing to improve the architectural character of their homes and, in doing so, improve the property value of our homes and the overall aesthetics of the Lomond community.

A general meeting of the Lomond Association will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Lomond School Auditorium for those interested in learning more about the 2011 grant program.

Don’t miss Lomond teacher Jim Henry talk (and show slides) about his life in the wilds of Alaska. Sponsored by the Lomond Association, this event is open to everyone - and children are welcome! Please arrive by 6:50 pm so that we may begin promptly at 7 pm.

Special Election for Association Officers

The Association is holding elections during the January 13 meeting to fill the unexpired terms of Dena Smith, President and Gary Bowling, Treasurer, both of whom have recently resigned. Since Kim Papell, the only nominee for President, will vacate the office of Executive Vice President, it is also necessary to elect an Executive Vice President. Besides Kim Papell, the nominee for President, the other nominees are Isaac Greber for Executive Vice President and Carol Bolden for Treasurer.
