Hello fellow Lomonders–
 
I have many friends and neighbors tell me in regards to the Neighborhood Beautification work, “Let me know if I can help.”  Now’s is everyone’s chance to help.
 
Tuesday, October 7th at 6p.m. in city council chambers, there will be a public forum on Community Development Block Grants.  In case you are unaware, every year Cuyahoga County disperses upwards of $325,000 in grants to cities for projects in diverse, socioeconmic communities.  Lomond and Gridley Triangle improvements fall well within the guidelines to receive these grants.  In order to receive funds, cities are required by the county to hold open public meetings on the subject.  Only the City of Shaker Heights can apply for these grants on our behalf.  The city is looking into multiple projects to fund for the coming year(s) with this grant money.  We want the city to know that Gridley Triangle should not be put off any longer.
 
As the saying goes, The squeaky wheel gets the grease.  City Council and city employees need to hear from as many residents as possible at this forum.  We want them to know that quality green space matters to our community and would go along way to making Lomond a more enjoyable place to live.  It is Lomond’s turn. 
 
This is our first chance to be heard at this type of forum.  If you can find the time, please attend to forum and let our collective voices be heard.  Tuesday, October 7th 6 p.m. in City Council Chambers.
