December 12th Committees Fair
Dear Lomonders,
There will be NO General Association Meeting during the month of December. The next general meeting is scheduled for January 10, from 7-8:30, in the Lomond School Auditorium (we will be providing more comfortable chairs to sit on this time)
There are still opportunities to be involved this month! Several committees will meet December 12th at the Shaker Community Center, from 7-9 P.M. to get organized, select chairpeople, and develop action plans for the rest of the year. These committees include the Youth Committee (see agenda below), the Community Programs Committee (social events), and the Safety Committee. Youth and Safety Committees are newly forming, so this is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor. If you’re interested in working with Community Relations, Beautification, Membership, Communications, Ways and Means, Foreclosure, or Elections, simply reply to this e-mail for inquiries about whom to contact. This information will soon be posted on our web site as well.
We anticipate these committees will be where the bulk of the Association work is done, and committees will take turns hosting general meetings, so we strongly encourage everyone to get involved in a committee now, while plans are being laid.

Youth Committee Meeting
December 12, 2007
7:00 to 9:00 pm
Shaker Community Center
2450 Lee Rd
This meeting is open to ALL!!!!!!!! We need VOLUNTEERS!!!
The Lomond Residents decided that we want a Youth Committee established to assist the youth in our neighborhood. The following are things we identified during the development of our Vision 2012:
February 8, 2007
Youth Programs
Constructive Teen Opportunities
A Teen Center
Appropriate Use of Public Spaces
March 8, 2007
Idle Youth
Undefined Youth Focus
Unsupervised Youth
Youth Uninvolved in Constructive Activity
Very Limited After-School Teen Programming
On December 12, 2007, we will get the ball rolling and begin outlining the program and develop an image of what it will look like in 2012.
Please begin thinking about answers to the following questions:
What age group are we targeting?
How do we know a problem exists?
Where is the evidence? (Lomond, Gridley Triangle, etc.)
When during the year is “it” needed?
When during the day is “it” needed?
What is “it”?
What programs already exist?
What has Lomond Association done in the past?
Who are the stakeholders?
Who/what are resources?
How can the message be communicated?
What is the focus of the program? (Athletic, academic, social, life-skill, etc)
What are other associations doing?
Other ideas.
